AKA: Mutt

I’m very honored to be a part of this dynamic duo.  (This start-up of this venture was 100% the creative energy of Jeff.  I’m just tagging along for the ride and accountability.)  It’s funny…considering our sizes that I’m the sidekick.   I think I have about 9 inches of height advantage…and a lot more in pounds…over our super-hero.  I guess we can be a reversal of Mutt and Jeff…and I can assure you that I won’t be sporting tights of any kind.  Hey, even a sidekick has her pride.  :-)

At present time, I am well over 150 lbs overweight.  I’d like to blame it on 9 kiddos, but unless I’ve been eating them in my sleep…that’s not the problem here.  I do have 4 beautiful children and another one on the way within the next two months.  I did have another pregnancy that ended during the second trimester as a stillbirth.  So in the last 8 1/2 years, I have had 6 pregnancies.  I do not have problems with gestational diabetes, but God has seen fit to bless me with the honor of birthing big babies…and with that comes weight gain.  The first couple of times I managed to lose back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but the pregnancies after that–especially after the still birth–I didn’t really care too much and that didn’t happen.

Much like Jeff, I’ve tried numerous things to lose weight and sometimes I would see short term results, but no matter what I do I seem to hit a wall where I can’t loose.  I could deal with a short term hump where I needed to change things up and then start loosing again, but it seems I loose about 60 pounds and then go for months without loosing anything.  I know 60 lbs is nothing to snub my nose at, but I’m a results kind of gal.  I NEED to see those results or I lose heart – and fast.

The good thing for me, I hope, is that I might have finally found something that works.  Before I got pregnant this time around, I was able to loose almost 100 lbs with some diet modifications and some serious hard work.  Both are things that I’ve been advised (medically) and would prefer just not to do while pregnant.   (Who wants that kind of work on top of non-stop yarfing and nausea…and now contractions?)

So, that’s why I’m here.  For the time being at least, doing my normal workout of chasing/and growing little ones is going to have to be it.  Maybe Jeff and I can figure this thing out and eventually be wonderfully skinny housewives…maybe…???
